Both teams had their chances, but the South Africa Black Sox eventually prevailed.

The South Africa Black Sox defeated the Mexico City Muertos, 6-5, at Mexico City Grounds. South Africa first baseman Tarik Kimweri had a superb performance. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The win went to Ömer Sunay in relief, making him now 3-0. Dorek Ostrowski took the loss for Mexico City.

Edelberto Ramalhete was 1-2 with a double and a walk against the Muertos. With the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put South Africa in front, 6-5.

"We've got a great group of guys," Kimweri said, "and we're having fun right now."

The Black Sox, now 18-5, have been on fire in the early going.
