With Late Score, Knights Beat Choho
|
The London Knights beat the Tokyo Choho, 3-2, at Red Barons Ballpark. The Knights got a fine performance from first baseman Miguel Herrera, who was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. London reliever Breen Boyle picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Nicolae Olteanu was saddled with the loss. The victory makes London 11-9, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2114.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Herrera hit a fastball from Nicolae Olteanu for a run-scoring single. The Knights, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Bottom line," said Tokyo skipper Danny Guzman, "we didn't play well enough to win."
