Red Dragons Suffer 8-6 Setback
|
With first baseman Ramiro Rodriguez leading the charge, the Bangkok Elephants defeated the Hanoi Red Dragons, 8-6, at Bangkok Ballpark. Rodriguez, who is tied for 10th in the EL with a .324 batting average, was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Gildun Minkah. His record is now 4-9. The left-hander went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits for the Elephants. Adam Corado got the save, the 36th for him this season.
Ding-bong Ye, the Bangkok third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 5-4, Elephants. For the game, Ye was 2 for 4 with a double.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Bangkok manager Steve Montoya.
With the win over Hanoi, the Elephants improved to 75-86.
