Nkali Hang 7-4 Loss on Black Sox
|
The Nigeria Nkali picked up a win at Lagos Stadium, knocking off the South Africa Black Sox, 7-4. On the mound for Nigeria was right-hander Ammuc Ngowa. He played a key role in the triumph. Ngowa picked up the win for Nigeria, going 6 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 6-0. Grisha Sajinov recorded the save for Nigeria, his 8th of the season.
The Nkali got a big at-bat from first baseman Rafael Leon Jr.. For the game, Leon Jr. went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 34th double of the season gave Nigeria a 5-4 lead.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Leon Jr..
