Elephants Need Extra Innings to Top Sky Horses, 4-2
|
Pyongyang got a terrific performance from pitcher Othieno Robienayai, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bangkok Elephants. Bangkok won the Pyongyang Park contest, 4-2. Robienayai threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Mejdan Konchellah locked down his 1st save. At 71-81, the Elephants claim 4th place in the Eastern League Oceania.
Bangkok used the timely hitting of Dong-jin Lee to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Elephants ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We did enough to win," said Lee.
