Macaws Shut Out Pirates, 3-0
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Rio Macaws and the Havana Pirates, 28-year old right-handed pitcher Salman Amin was the difference-maker. The Rio right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. The second-place Pirates have lost 4 straight games.
Rio designated hitter Rafiq Imad al Din landed a blow when he belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 17th home run of the season. With it, the Macaws took a 2-0 lead.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Havana manager Manny Juarez.
