Seals Procure 7-4 Victory
|
New Zealand and Tokyo put this game in the books despite some rain.
Alan Khalifa made an impact in the 7-4 New Zealand win over Tokyo. Khalifa, who is tied for 9th in the EL in doubles with 39, was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Daryl Clark picked up the save for New Zealand, his 6th of the year.
New Zealand won the game in part because of Nour Sahere. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Seals ahead, 5-2. For the game, Sahere had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Sahere told the New Zealand Bulletin. "But we take nothing for granted."
New Zealand has 3 straight wins, Tokyo 3 straight losses.
