The exploits of catcher Isam Abdul-Wahid helped the Dublin Druids defeat the Havana Hammers, 6-2. Abdul-Wahid was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Abizar Karsumaatmaja got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Havana falls to 4-10.
Abdul-Wahid contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Dublin in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Abdul-Wahid took a sinker from Alfredo Cruz and stroked the double to left. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Druids to leap in front, 2-1.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Dublin skipper Salvador Chacon.
