Balgera Helps Toronto Cruise to 11-3 Win
|
Toronto shortstop Rafael Balgera was instrumental in helping the Beavers triumph, 11-3, over the Rio Macaws. Balgera went 3-5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Toronto raised its record to 76-68 with the win.
Archie Lawton had a big 2-run double for the Beavers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toronto leading 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Anatoly Treumov, who finished 4th in the WL in ERA with 2.96 in 2107, and swatted a double to left. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beavers ahead, 6-3.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Balgera.
