Seals Top Towers to Even Record
|
New Zealand pitcher Juan Vasquez did his part in helping his team beat the Dubai Towers, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Oiva Laitinen got credit for the save for New Zealand. It was his 3rd of the year. The win gives New Zealand a record of 7-7.
Mubale Mtoro drove in 2 runs for New Zealand. The 2106 Most Valuable Player Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Paramananda Prashant. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"Bottom line," said Dubai skipper Alex Locano, "we didn't play well enough to win."
