Hanoi used a superb performance from starting pitcher Szczedrzyk Lubka to down the Marrakesh Marabouts, 5-1. Lubka, now 16-5, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Earning his 28th save for Hanoi was Breen Boyle.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Afaghis Marango? The Hanoi second baseman had a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Red Dragons on top, 4-1. For the game, Marango had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Lubka.
With the win, Hanoi upped its record to 81-51.
