Black Sox Shut Out Red Dragons, 5-0
|
The South Africa Black Sox picked up a win at Field of the Red Dragons, knocking off the Hanoi Red Dragons, 5-0. On the mound for South Africa was right-hander Andrew Gray. He played a key role in the triumph. Gray picked up the win for South Africa, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. The Red Dragons, at 4-9, have stumbled out of the gate.
Sahlu Kipkoech had a big solo home run for the Black Sox in the top of the second inning. With South Africa leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from Dinh-Ty Lam, who finished 3rd in the EL in ERA with 2.87 last year, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Black Sox on top, 2-0.
Kipkoech called it "a solid win."
