Macaws Beat Berlin, 3-2

Rio picked up a win at Rio de Janeiro Ballpark, bumping off the Berlin Black Eagles, 3-2. Pitcher Viet-Tam Thuc was a major reason the Macaws emerged victorious. Hamzah Ma'n locked down his 6th save. The Black Eagles, at 53-72, have lost 5 in a row.
Byron Baudry, who led the EL in batting average with .355 in 2107, contributed to the Rio win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Thuc told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
