Istanbul beat Delhi on the strength of starting pitcher Robin Genovese's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Genovese yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-6. Henri Dufour notched his 9th save in 9 chances.

The Destroyers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Scimitars going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old right fielder Yitna Kuguru came to the plate. Kuguru hit a 2-run double on a 2-2 slider from Delhi hurler Jong-chun Im. It was Kuguru's 24th double of the year.

"We had a good game plan," Genovese said, "and we were able to execute it."

The 4th-place Scimitars go to 39-71.
