Kosmonauts Lose By a Run at Stockholm
|
The Stockholm Vikings withstood an impressive performance by Moscow right fielder Aza bin Zakiy to defeat the Kosmonauts, 4-3, at Stockholm Center. bin Zakiy went 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gaballah Adewole got the win, improving to 6-12. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 5. Stockholm, at 52-56, sits in 4th place in the Western League Eastern Europe.

With Stockholm leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Azim Wangondu, who is tied for 6th in the WL in quality starts with 15, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 28th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vikings ahead, 4-0.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Moscow manager Arjen MacDonald.
