Pirates Sneak By Muertos, 2-1

Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Havana Pirates and Mexico City Muertos.
The Havana Pirates did just enough to sneak past the Mexico City Muertos, 2-1, at Mexico City Grounds. Havana pitcher Andrew Eastick, in particular, had a standout performance. Turan Kobulov, 8-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings.
Havana used the timely hitting of Semer Tajamali to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pirates on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like what I saw today," said Havana manager Manny Juarez, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Havana has 3 straight wins, Mexico City 3 straight losses.
