Mukuru Slugs Fusion to 10-5 Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Pyongyang Sky Horses and Singapore Fusion get after it.
The Singapore Fusion beat the Pyongyang Sky Horses, 10-5, at Singapore Stadium. Singapore first baseman Mzee Mukuru had an outstanding performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. Frank Loyola earned the win to go to 6-4. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts in 6 innings of work.
Mukuru contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Singapore in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Mukuru took a curveball from Robby Duran and stroked the home run to left. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Fusion to leap in front, 2-1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Mukuru said after the game.
With the win, Singapore pushed its record to 52-52.
