5 Straight Wins for Gladiators
|
Rome Gladiators starter Brahim Mwai pitched well against the Toronto Beavers at The Beaver Dome, leading his team to a win, 6-4. Mwai yielded 4 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-9. Toronto has now lost 4 in a row.
Jurgen Charno provided a timely hit. The Rome left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Gladiators on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Brahim was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Rome manager Kahutea Moonya.
