Ruiz, Narwhals Wallop Knights in Game 3 of CS

Reykjavik Narwhals manager Angelo Garza wasn't expecting much from the rookie playing in his first postseason. Maybe he should have been.
In front of a supportive hometown crowd, 24-year-old designated hitter Chris Ruiz humbled the visiting London Knights at Laugardalur Leikvangur. Ruiz went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice as the Narwhals shut out the Knights by a final score of 6-0, to give Reykjavik a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
There was more than one reason the Narwhals beat the Knights, but Ruiz's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
"We lost," London manager Brent Murphy said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Laugardalur Leikvangur in Reykjavík.
