Kangaroos Clip Seals, 3-2, in WC Contest
The Melbourne Kangaroos got a strong game from starter Khatib Gamali, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Kangaroos took the 3-2 win over the New Zealand Seals in Game 3 of the Wildcard Series in a 10th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Gamali. Gamali threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run in the win, which allowed the Kangaroos to narrow their deficit to 1-2 in the best-of-7 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Melbourne right fielder Tom Veen, facing Timi Molitika, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Kangaroos the 3-2 win.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Gamali. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beresford Park in Melbourne.
