Almost There: Istanbul On Cusp of WC Triumph After 10-8 Win
The Istanbul Scimitars moved to within one game of the Division Series, downing the visiting Riyadh Oryx at Constantinople Coliseum by a score of 10-8. Scimitars second baseman Michel Rousset did some major damage. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. The win gives the Scimitars a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Wildcard Series.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Tabat Sahere came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Riyadh pitcher Debebe Manzili, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Istanbul on top, 7-6.

"We lost," Riyadh manager Jing-zhong Hsieh said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Constantinople Coliseum in Istanbul.
