Black Eagles Sunk by Kosmonauts
|
The Berlin Black Eagles could not turn a fine performance from left fielder Zeheb Altinkaynak into a win. Instead, the Moscow Kosmonauts prevailed, 7-4. Altinkaynak was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Moscow reliever Thung Thuc picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Igor Wrobel absorbed the loss. Berlin drops to 5-5.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Kosmonauts second baseman Adelino Versteeg hit a sinker from Igor Wrobel for a 2-run single. Just like that, Moscow was up, 3-2.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Versteeg.
