Dreamers Beat Narwhals, 2-0, to Start WC
Maimun Eisa and the Los Angeles Dreamers opened the Wildcard Series in brilliant fashion, traveling to Reykjavik and shutting out the host Narwhals at Laugardalur Leikvangur, 2-0, to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Eisa, the Dreamers left-hander, threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball.

Elton Gibbs came through with a big-time hit for Los Angeles. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Maimun gave us everything he had," said Los Angeles manager Hector Vargos.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Laugardalur Leikvangur in Reykjavík.
