Knights Beat Emeralds, 4-2, to Start WC
|
The London Knights wasted no time taking the lead in the Wildcard Series, beating the Bogota Emeralds at Emerald Ballpark by the score of 4-2. The win gives London a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Knights left-hander Antonn Vrbka threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball.
Vrbka allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings for the Knights. He walked 1 and struck out 9.
Vrbka said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Emerald Ballpark in Bogota.
