Stars Earn Late 2-1 Win
|
Graeme Kelly never let the Elephants get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Stars to a win, 2-1. Tehran reliever Saip Prifti got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Juan Morales was tagged with the loss. Ilias Normand was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 13 save opportunities.
Had Corey McDonald not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, McDonald hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Stars.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Bangkok manager Topan Kartodirdjo, "let me know."
The win has Tehran at 32-59.
