Osman Jafri, who finished 4th in the WL in strikeouts with 203 in 2113, was locked in. The right-hander led the Riyadh Oryx to a 6-5 win against the Istanbul Scimitars at Riyadh Ballpark. Mehari Tarek nailed down his 19th save. The loss makes Istanbul 62-30.

The Oryx got a big at-bat from shortstop Dave Ayala. For the game, Ayala was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Riyadh a 5-4 lead.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Ayala told the Riyadh Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
