|
Hong Kong parlayed a decent outing from starter Edgar Cruz into a solid win over the Seoul Arrows. The final score was 5-3. Cruz, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Dula Kontar, credited with the save, is now 6 for 6 in save opportunities.
Taito Vihko, who finished 5th in the WL in extra base hits with 77 last year, helped out the Hong Kong cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
Vihko told a Hong Kong News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Today's win puts Hong Kong at 41-48, while Seoul falls to 51-39.
