Ibex Dealt 4-1 Loss by Marrakesh
|
Marrakesh pitcher Amritananda Sreenivas did his part in helping his team defeat the Ethiopia Ibex, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Sreenivas yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-7. Picking up the save was Luca Sarhaan, his 7th.
Saed Muthomi went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI for Marrakesh. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Igider Yawo. It was his 27th RBI of the season.
"Amritananda's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Marrakesh manager Shane Cassidy.
The victory puts Marrakesh at 35-55.
