Choho Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Hanoi Red Dragons got a sterling performance from pitcher Kichizo Kaneshiro, but the Tokyo Choho still prevailed, 4-3. Kaneshiro threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. At 36-51, the Choho are currently last in the Eastern League Far East.
Tokyo used the timely hitting of Malaki Kafara to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Choho on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Both teams played hard," said Tokyo manager Danny Guzman.
