Gladiators Win, 3-2, at Moscow
|
The Rome Gladiators knocked off the Moscow Kosmonauts, 3-2, in Western League action at Moscow Stadium. Rome pitcher and Lusaka, Zambia, native Teka Kasakya had an outstanding performance. Tewodros Benzai closed the door for Rome, picking up his 6th save of the year. The first-place Gladiators are 45-41.
Baber Ansari, who is tied for 10th in the WL in bases on balls with 49, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ansari contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put Rome up, 2-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Rome manager Abdalrahman Isra'il.
