Big Day for Hakkinen as Suns Down Macaws, 12-4
|
The Santiago Suns captured an easy win, 12-4, over the Rio Macaws at Santiago Field. Jarkko Hakkinen led the offensive barrage, going 4-for-5 for Santiago. Jameel bin Tamam was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Marc-Antoine Didier was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the second inning, Edwin Zayas went deep for the Suns. With Santiago trailing 4-1, he drilled a 3-run home run.
