Gladiators Get Clutch Win Versus Prague
|
The Rome Gladiators picked up a win at The Colosseum, knocking off the Prague Mammoths, 5-4. Starting pitcher Will Sierra played a key role in the triumph. Rome reliever Wang Dong picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Fawzi bin Rafiq was saddled with the loss. Rome sits in 4th place in the Western League Eastern Europe at 39-43.
The Gladiators got a clutch hit from shortstop Kai Savage. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Gladiators.
"Will's a gamer," said Rome manager Kahutea Moonya. "Glad he's on our side."
