Mexico City Falls Again, 2-0
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Reykjavik Narwhals and Mexico City Muertos.
Frederik Toefting, who is tied for 6th in the WL with a 2.70 ERA, was terrific for the Reykjavik Narwhals in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Mexico City Muertos. His performance earned Toefting rave reviews. The winner was Toefting. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Frank Loyola. Rafee Gul got the save, the 4th for him this season.
The Narwhals had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 2-0, Reykjavik, with no one out. Mexico City, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Yurochka Ajiganov dug in at the plate, but on a 1-1 fastball, he hit into a double play.
Mexico City is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
