With designated hitter Gopaladasa Kasturirangan leading the charge, the Tehran Stars defeated the Riyadh Oryx, 7-6, at Tehran Stadium. Kasturirangan was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. The Stars sport a record of 29-53.

The decisive blow was delivered by Corey McDonald in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Darge Jaja to win the game for Tehran. The home crowd went nuts.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Kasturirangan said.
