Obataiye Hammers 2 Homers in 8-6 Win
|
No one was more impactful than Bayisa Obataiye in the 8-6 Cairo win over Nigeria. Obataiye, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2109 draft, slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Levan Zaminian was the winner. He's now 5-6. The loser was two-time All-Star Ion Ardelean. The win puts Cairo at 31-50.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Pharaohs grabbed the lead when Obataiye hit his 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Théo Verger made it 6-3, Cairo.
"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Cairo skipper Hector Hernandez.
