Scimitars Lose at Home, 4-3
|
The Dubai Towers topped the Istanbul Scimitars, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Constantinople Coliseum. The standout performance belonged to Dubai pitcher and Mimongo, Gabon, native Adem Chipita. Laurent Dumas closed the door for Dubai, picking up his 3rd save of the year. Dubai, with the win, is 6-3.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Kipchoge Gharib? The 27-year old right fielder Gharib stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Dubai up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Dubai manager Suggut Obafemi.
