Towers Prevail, 5-3, Over Virunga
|
The Dubai Towers locked up a win at Emirati Ballpark, knocking off the Virunga Volcanoes, 5-3. On the mound for Dubai was right-hander Vladsislas Naboka. He played a major role in the triumph. Naboka yielded 3 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-7. Dubai, with the win, climbs to 23-51.
An Son had a big 2-run double for the Towers in the bottom of the second inning. With Dubai leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Thibault Lenoir, who is tied for 6th in the EL in wins with 8, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Towers ahead, 3-0.
"Vladsislas gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Dubai skipper Alex Locano.
