Sky Horses Earn Late Win
|
Tehran got a big-time effort from pitcher El-Shamy Ghaniy, but it wasn't enough to keep the Pyongyang Sky Horses from winning the game, 4-3. Ghaniy threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Nate Campbell, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. With the win, Pyongyang has a record of 36-34. Tehran falls to 40-31.
Pyongyang took the lead, 4-3, on Abdul-Wahid bin Malik's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Tehran pitcher Fernão Velo in the bottom of the eighth.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Tehran manager Jordan Turcios said, following the tough loss.
