5 Straight Wins for Black Sox
|
The South Africa Black Sox went home winners at The Colosseum, thanks in large part to starter Negera Usiku. Usiku stifled the Rome Gladiators, enabling South Africa to grab the 4-1 win. Berta Makame sewed up the save, his 4th. This win makes it 5 in a row for South Africa.
South Africa used the clutch hitting of Rodolfo Saucedo to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Black Sox the lead, 2-1. For the game, Saucedo had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"This team is real focused right now," said South Africa manager Pao-tzu Bi.
