Elephants Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
Bangkok turned a good effort from starter Imran Popalzai into a win over the Pyongyang Sky Horses at Pyongyang Park. The Elephants won the game, 3-2. Popalzai, now 7-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The Bangkok win streak is now 3 games.
Bangkok used the timely hitting of Wei-fang Xiong to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Elephants on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Xiong told a Bangkok Chronicle reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
