Black Eagles Curb Vikings, 4-1
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Eddie Ybanez was a major contributor to the 4-1 Berlin win over Stockholm. The Black Eagles shortstop went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Azedine Matoub, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Yaseen Azeem earned the save for Berlin, his 7th.
Majhemout Anum was 2-3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Berlin. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Luca Skinner. It was his 24th RBI of the season.
"I really like what we did out there today," Anum said after the game.
The win has Berlin at 23-35.
