Jazz right fielder Jordan Varona left his mark on his team's 7-1 win over the Istanbul Scimitars. Varona belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Jakarta in the contest. Wibowo Rais, the winner, improved to 4-3. He held the Scimitars to 1 run on 6 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 3. Jakarta now sports a record of 31-23.

Jakarta took a 5-1 lead on Varona's 11th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Robin Genovese in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Jakarta to the win.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Varona.
