Red Dragons Sunk by Pharaohs
|
The Cairo Pharaohs picked up a win at Pyramid Park, taking down the Hanoi Red Dragons, 3-2. Starting pitcher Mutesa Kodwo was a big reason why. Kodwo yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-5. Picking up his 12th save was fan favorite Javier Rios.
Bayisa Obataiye chipped in a 2-run home run for Cairo in the bottom of the third. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Hanoi manager Ponco Kusuma.
Cairo's record now stands at 25-26, placing them third in the Eastern League Africa.
