Marlon Tinker Picked SL1's Best Player
Tuesday, August 21st , 2068
At the age of 23, Marlon Tinker of the Oakland Muggers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2068 was good enough to win the third baseman the Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .318 batting average this year, as well as a .424 on-base percentage. He played 61 games and racked up 70 hits, 8 doubles, no triples, 25 home runs, 60 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 20. Lorenzo Mendoza of the Oakland Muggers finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Warren Mullins of the Perrysburg Commodores finished third with 4 first place votes.
