McNeil Slams 3 Homers for Mallards
Monday, July 30th , 2068
Some days you can't have it all, as Madison Mallards left fielder Daniel McNeil discovered when he cracked three homers against the Victoria Secrets, and still lost.
"I have mixed emotions about this game," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but it's hard to be happy when you lose the game."
The 21-year-old got his name in the league record books, but the Secrets walked away with the triumph, 15-11, at Ballpark of Fulton. McNeil finished the day with 3 hits in 4 at-bats and 6 RBIs.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," he said in the postgame interview.
Daniel McNeil walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ricky Steamboat in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Steamboat in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Louie Barnes in the 9th.
For the season, McNeil is currently batting .242 with 16 home runs and 45 RBIs. In 63 games he has reached base at a .370 rate and scored 40 runs to date.
