Suzuki Swats 3 Homers Saturday, May 19th , 2068 Moosejaw Bullwinkles first baseman Ichiro Suzuki sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Bilbao Percebes, Suzuki told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Suzuki pushed the Bullwinkles past the Percebes, 8-1. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Suzuki told reporters after the game. Ichiro Suzuki flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Rodney Robinson in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Rodney Robinson in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Rodney Robinson in the 7th. So far this season, Suzuki has put up a .500 batting average with 35 hits, 16 home runs and 35 RBIs. |
