Kim Goes 5-for-7 Against Oregon
Saturday, May 9th , 2071
Farplane third baseman Byung-sik Kim could do no wrong today, but the Chocobos could.
Kim collected 5 hits against the Oregon Otters, but he couldn't win the game. Farplane fell, 5-4, in extra innings at Wayfarers Ballpark.
"It's a shame we didn't win," Kim said later. "It would have been a very special day if that had happened."
"In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor," Otters manager said. "We couldn't keep him from getting ahead in the count and once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get better pitches to hit."
Byung-sik Kim singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 10th, flied out in the 12th, doubled in the 14th and singled in the 17th.
Thus far this season in 30 games, Kim is batting .310 with 3 home runs, 15 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 35 hits in 113 at-bats.

Elliott Thwarts Saskatoon, 5-0
Wednesday, May 6th , 2071
Abel Elliott of the Muskingum River Otters was on top of his game.
The 22-year-old tantalized the Saskatoon Scorpions with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 5-0.
"He had the changeup working," Saskatoon manager said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Muskingum hurler had 6 strikeouts, gave up 6 walks and surrendered 3 hits in his complete-game effort.
Elliott told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."
"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
This season, Elliott has compiled a 2-4 mark with a 4.06 ERA in 7 starts.

Britt Shuts Out Campus Martius, 5-0
Tuesday, May 5th , 2071
Anthony Britt of the Santiago Pulpos was on fire against the Campus Martius Coney Dogs at Tricksters Ballpark. He shut them out, 5-0, on 2 hits, collecting 7 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Britt said later. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
On the season, Britt has 2 wins and 2 losses and a 3.57 ERA.
