Pierce Shuts Out Battle Creek Saturday, May 25th , 2069 In an outstanding outing, Savannah Scouts starter Kyle Pierce tamed the Battle Creek Bootleggers with a 5-hit shutout at Cavalry Hill. The Savannah hurler went the distance, finishing with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 4-0 win. "He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Battle Creek manager . "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
