Going Once! Twice! Gone Again! 3 HR for Jones

Rob Jones went on an explosive hitting spree against the Omaha Wild Dogs at Mission Stadium, launching a trio of blasts to help the I-35 Cyclones win, 11-0.
The third baseman finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 6 runs batted in.
"It was just one of those days," Jones said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Omaha skipper said Jones was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Rob Jones grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
This year, Jones has batted at a .268 pace with 40 hits, 7 home runs, 27 RBIs and scored 15 times.

Cyclones Show No Mercy in 11-0 Thrashing of Wild Dogs

Ryan Gentry came out firing strikes and, when the game ended, the I-35 Cyclones hurler had struck out 8, leading I-35 past the Omaha Wild Dogs, 11-0. Gentry allowed just 5 hits in the ballgame.
"I'm glad that one is in the rearview mirror," said Omaha manager .
This year, Gentry has worked 72.1 innings with 61 strikeouts en route to a 3-3 record and 2.86 ERA.

Hernández Twirls 8-0 Shutout
Tuesday, May 15th , 2068
Leland Hernández subdued the Fremont Farmers, 8-0, pitching a 3-hit gem for the Portland Penguins at Patriots Ballpark.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Portland skipper said.
Hernández registered 6 strikeouts and issued 3 walks in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Fremont manager after the defeat.
Hernández has made 7 starts so far this year and put up a 3-3 won-lost record with a 3.86 ERA. In 49 innings he has allowed 45 hits, walked 12 and struck out 42.
