Naubinway Wins Round 1
|
After winning the MVP of the Round 1, Naubinway hurler Kensaku Shiokawa said he is focused on putting forward another strong performance in the Round 2.
"I feel great on the mound right now, it's hard to explain," said the Naubinway Mariners pitcher, who played a big role in his team eliminating the Chicago Beans. "All I know is I want this to continue."
Naubinway won the final game by a 3-2 count and the series 3-1. Shiokawa had a 0.00 ERA over 5 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.
"We didn't do enough to win, it's as simple as that," said Chicago manager .
The Naubinway Mariners don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Mount Pleasant Mountaneers - Savannah Scouts series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
